November 2009 I had the privilege to go on my first mission trip, my experience instilled a passion for helping others that has become the lens in which i view the world through, I am inspired to do selfless things by those that give themselves freely to causes greater than themselves.
"we all think we are helping the people in need, but really the people in need are helping us."
Taken out of my comfort zone, denied all technology, it was just me, the women and orphans. God really grabbed a hold of my heart and softened my shell.
I learned that at the end of the day prior to this experience no matter what i accomplished i still felt a sense of dissatisfaction in my life, i truly believe when you make a conscious decision to change your life, get out of self, that is where you begin finding inner peace.
Monterrey Mexico was it for me.
